Pit boxer mix quote9/23/2023 I’ve has my pit mix since he was a puppy, and he has co-inhabited with about 4 or so different cats with no issues. I do my research, and I work on all 3 of dogs obedience daily. Lets get one thing straight: I came here looking for help with a particular issue, but I am not a clueless dog or pit owner. I have 2 other dogs, one of which mothers the kittens, and one who’s just indifferent.Įdit: I’m gonna assume the general person who comes here looking for help, especially pit owners, are ill-educated, or clueless, just based off replies that feel like I’m being deemed clueless. So, is there anything I can do, or am just playing the waiting game until they’re big enough for him to recognize that they’re cats?Ĭurrently we have to put him in separate room when we let the cats roam, I can’t put him in a kennel to observe, cause he’ll grab a paw if they stick them in the kennel. Obviously it seems that he does not understand that these are small cats and just sees them as small prey. He has prey drive towards small animals, and has grabbed possums in the past. I say “most” because he will some chase cats when they run from time to time. My dog, Boss, is fine with most cats, we have an outside adult cat who comes inside here and there, and he’s completely fine with her. So we just got 3 kittens that I found outside while working and we intend on keeping them. Notable WIKI pages:įor content relating to the physical care of dogs, try our sister subreddit, /r/DogCare.
